CHHF Focus Topic: Homeopathy – ADHD

Family Wellness & Psychotherapy Center , Woodbury, CT

You really do have options for your child’s health, outside of the typical regimen of pharmaceutical drugs and endless doctor visits. Dr. Layman has experience treating many ADHD kids using natural remedies to help them focus, behave better, excel at school, and be healthier children overall.

Dr. Katherine Layman has a special passion for treating common conditions of childhood and adolescence, specifically ADD/ADHD, Autism spectrum disorder, PANDAS/PANS, anxiety, depression, eczema and atopy.

Dr. Layman graduated with honors from the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine and completed a yearlong residency with a specialty focus in Homeopathy. During her time in residency, repeated interactions with children placed on strong medications – often more than one strong medication – had a profound effect on Dr. Layman. She felt their mothers’ desperation, weighing hope for the scholastic and social success of their child against the side-effects and uncertain long-term consequences of strong stimulant medications and anti-psychotics. It became her desire to provide another option, a chance for children to succeed in school and form social connections without facing unwanted drug effects and long-term dependence on pharmaceuticals. Dr. Layman has a vision for a system that helps our children to find balance and succeed by being their best selves, naturally.  Her mission is to educate and empower parents and their children for happier, healthier families. Vibrantly healthy children means time for vibrantly healthier moms!

Dr. Layman is a member of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians, the Homeopathic Academy of Naturopathic Physicians, and the Connecticut Naturopathic Physicians Association.
